Over the course of the past year, much has changed in the Town of Pelham.
New residents, new events and new businesses have came together to form a growing community.
That growth, through new development and future development, has provided a direction for the town that features a new arena, new medical facilities, and new housing developments.
But what hasn’t changed are the hundreds of residents who think of others before themselves.
It was yet another year of selfless people, who use their time to not only better others, but also provide entertaining events.
Lions, Lioness, Kinsmen, Kinettes, Rotarians and others helped provide events such as Summerfest, Christmas in Pelham, Canada Day, parades and holiday festivities, as well as the newly created Mudfest Challenge.
Volunteers helped to save Maple Acre Public Library, create Supper Market, continue the Pelham Farmers Market  and Thursday Bandshell Concerts as well as raise funds for the first dog park.
Coaches and teachers chipped in, helping provide sporting activities for the young, resulting in success on the field and on the ice.
They fielded teams for hockey, soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, and special Olympics.
E.L. Crossley girls and boys hockey teams captured SOSSA gold, brought home track and field medals, put on a good show in basketball tournaments.
Crossley students made an impact with environmental awards as well as charity efforts for Pelham Cares.
Minor sports teams won numerous tournament titles.
Future soccer and baseball stars took to the field in the summer led by local men and women, who gave up weekends to provide fun opportunity to youth.
Pelham Cares, drew volunteers and donations from churches, schools, service clubs and the annual Pelham Food Drive.
Volunteer firefighters in Fonthill marked 25 years of a toy drive. Shorthills  firefighters helped build a new station. Fenwick firefighters raised donations.
