Pelham Farmers Market will have a shorter season this year.

Farmers market committee decided to start on Thursday, May 7, about a week later than in the past and end on Oct. 8 instead of the end of October.

Applications for market vendors are available on the town’s website www.pelham.ca and at Town Hall.

Dwindling vendors, product and farm commitments led to the earlier finish.

The Thursday evening market in Fonthill’s Pelham Town Square will run for 23 weeks. Some vendors will move to Rice Road Greenhouses to form a market after Oct. 8. A similar move last year worked out well.

The farmers market committee has operated the 4:30 p.m. to dusk Thursday market for a decade. Its format has been copied by neighbouring communities.

Thursday evening in the Pelham Town Square now includes Thursday Night Concerts at the Fonthill bandshell and as of last summer a Thursday SupperMarket.
