Community Support Services of Niagara (CSSN) announced today that it will be delivering two free frozen meals to anyone that initiates service in the Meals on Wheels program as a special promotion until the end of March 2015 or until quantities last.
Community Support Services is a non-profit agency that provides programs and services to seniors and adults with disabilities that assists them to live in their own homes. One such program offered by CSSN is the Meals on Wheels Program.  Meals on Wheels has been serving nutritionally balanced meals since 1967.  The caring and dedicated volunteers deliver these meals year round to ensure that the individuals in need are receiving their meals without interruption.  These heart healthy, dietician approved meals are prepared locally within the Niagara Region and flash frozen to ensure the best quality meal.
Consider the individual who is no longer able to maneuver around the kitchen and settles for a toast and tea meal, five days a week or the individual who has just been released from hospital without any supports at home to assist with meal preparation. This person could be your mother, your grandmother, your neighbor or your friend.
‘Many of us take meals for granted and do not realize that for some it is not possible to have well-rounded nutritional meals due to circumstances. Food is a necessity, not a want.” says Deb Rollo, Executive Director of Community Support Services of Niagara. “This is where CSSN strives to assist wherever possible. We understand the importance of a good meal to keep in optimal health.”
If you or anyone you know is interested in ordering Meals on Wheels, please contact the office directly to speak with one of their caring and knowledgeable staff that will explain the program to you in detail. If you decide to enroll in the program, CSSN will provide you with sample meals at no cost to you.
