Town council costs in 2014

The mayor and town councillors cost Pelham taxpayers $131,577 in pay and expenses during 2014. Mayor Dave Augustyn received $31, 793 in remuneration, and $2,400 in car allowance.

The mayor and town councillors cost Pelham taxpayers $131,577  in pay and expenses during 2014.

Mayor Dave Augustyn received $31, 793 in remuneration, and $2,400 in car allowance.

To attend the Association of Municipalities of Ontario in London and Federation of Canadian Municipalities annual conference in Niagara Falls, the town paid him $803 for registration, $174 for mileage and expenses, and $790 for the mayor’s accommodation.

His total pay and expenses for 2014 was $35,963.

Each town councillor received a basic remuneration of $14,571.

The exceptions were former councillor Jim Lane and Coun. Marvin Junkin.  Junkin replaced Lane in Ward 1 in the October 2014 municipal election.

Lane received $13,439 in pay as well as $861 and $23 to attend conferences.

Junkin received $1,132 for his time at the end of the year.

In addition to their remuneration, Coun. Gary Accursi received $785 for conference registration; Coun. John Durley $785 and $21 for registration and expenses; Coun. Catherine King $1,683, $262 and $576 for registration, expenses and accommodation; Coun. Peter Papp $1,548, $273 and $576 for registration, expenses and accommodations; and Coun. Richard Rybiak $785 for registration.
