Graham Tarajos has loved acting since he was 6 years old. That was when he first saw The Lion King on stage, and he immediately knew what he wanted to do with his life. Now, having just turned 19, Graham is well on his way to achieving his goal.

In December of last year, Graham received the memorial scholarship from the Port Colborne Operatic Society, and now studies acting at Niagara College. Having performed in a number of plays from the age of 12, including the role of Fyedka in the Operatic Society’s recent showing of Fiddler on the Roof, Graham is excited to be living his dream. “Stage work has been a great experience,” he said. “I’d like to work in film and television one day, I’d like to move to Los Angeles and work down there.”

Graham’s mother, Donna, has been involved with his career from the beginning and credits his success to the work ethic and devotion that he puts into every project. “He has put in a lot of hours,” she said. “Double rehearsals, setups, sometimes there are dance routines. He’s very dedicated and it has contributed greatly to his success.”

For Graham’s part, he is quick to point out the role that his family has played in his achievments. “I’m thankful to my mom and dad for all their encouragement and support. They gave a lot of their time to support the many hours of auditions, practices, and productions,” he said.

But for now, performing has been set aside while he perfects his craft. Constantly looking to hone his skills, Graham frequently takes part in workshops and classes. “I’ve done classes with Stephanie Jones on the Meisner technique,” he said, “as well as a number of others including musical theater and improve workshops.” Graham is also very focused on his studies at Niagara College and feels he is learning a lot. “I have wonderful professors and great classes,” he said. “I have one more year here, and then I will begin searching for something in television and film.”
