MPP Tim Hudak’s ninth annual Chicken n’ Ribs BBQ is shaping up to be the best one yet, attracting interest not only in West Niagara but from candidates in the PC Party’s leadership race.
The PC party recently released the rules for the race to choose a new leader, and many of those who are considering running in that race are taking the opportunity to reach out to party members, and supporters, by attending the annual Chicken n’ Rib dinner.
Currently, Lisa McLeod, MPP in Nepean Carleton and Ontario PC Energy Critic and Francophone Affairs Critic, and Monte McNaughton, MPP for Lambton Kent Middlesex and PC critic for Ministry of Citizenship, Immigration and International Trade, have indicated they will be at the event.
“I’m proud of my team and our plan for economic growth and a government we can afford,” says Hudak, noting the leadership candidates are part of a PC alternative that is focused on job creation, affordable government and better take home pay.
“I’m very pleased that Lisa and Monte will be attending so my constituents can meet them and get to know their plans to get Ontario back on track,” says Hudak, adding the Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing, and PC Finance Critic, and Patrick Brown, MP for Barrie, campaigns will be sending representatives to promote their candidates and meet local residents as well.
The event is not only a perfect opportunity to talk with Tim and meet possible future leaders of the party, it’s also a good time to renew memberships or join the party. Volunteers will be on hand to sign up new members or help current members make sure their membership is up to date.
Award winning Grillmaster Billy Bones will once again be behind his grill; while talented local musician, Bill Culp, will take the stage. There will also be plenty of activities for children, including a clown and an inflatable bouncer.
The admission fee is $10 per person and children under the age of 12 are free. Doors open 4 p.m., dinner will be served at 5 p.m. through to 7 p.m. The admission fee includes a full meal of chicken, ribs and “all the fixins”.
