Randy. Klaassen, a volunteer with the local search and rescue organization flying out of the Niagara District Airport, says the Niagara group is joining in  celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force this year.

For a century, he says, "the RCAF has been an invaluable institution for the defence and security of our nation, and we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for their dedication and service.”

As members of Civil Air Search And Rescue Association (CASARA), he says, “we deeply recognize the significance of their work and the support towards our organization. The expertise, dedication, and collaboration over the years have been crucial in ensuring the safety of search and rescue operations in our region.”

“As we commemorate this remarkable milestone in the history of the RCAF, we want to sincerely thank them for their ongoing partnership and for the commitment to the safety and well-being of all Canadians. Together, we honour the legacy and look forward to continued collaboration in the years to come.”

The flag flying at the CASARA Niagara headquarters at Niagara District Airport this week was the ensign for the RCAF from 1940 to 1965.
