Federal party leaders Justin Trudeau and Pierre Poilievre both have strong groups who dislike them, but only Poilievre also has strong support

Many readers have strongly negative views of federal party leaders Justin Trudeau and Pierre Poilievre, online polls show.

The difference, however, is that Poilievre also has strong supporters, while Trudeau largely doesn't.

Village Media has started closing several running polls, like federal and provincial party preferences and views of federal party leaders every month or so and replacing them with fresh, identical ones. This makes it much easier to track trends over time, and lets readers vote more regularly.

Some readers have shifted their views of both leaders over time in one direction or another, but the results are sort of a wash.

Cross-referencing with 2015 voter behaviour, a noticeable number of 2015 Liberals now have a positive view of Poilievre to some degree (the reverse is not at all true), although the largest group of 2015 Liberals by far are those with a very unfavourable view. Turning to Trudeau, the largest group of 2015 Liberals have an only somewhat favourable view.

Turning to current voting intentions, the relationship of both Conservatives and Liberals to the graphs are more or less what you would expect. NDP supporters have a range of views about Trudeau, few very negative, but are strongly negative about Poilievre.
