It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Lynda Elizabeth Baines on February 27 2024, at the Hamilton General Hospital at the age of 78.  Beloved wife of William (Terry) Baines for 55 years.  Loved mother of daughters, Sarah McKay and Katherine (Katie) Baines Minty, and sons-in-law, Chris McKay and Wendell Minty.  Cherished grandmother of Asher and Levi McKay, Anson and Emmitt Minty.  Dear sister of Nancy McInnes.  Sadly missed by life-long friend Mary MacLeod.  Pre-deceased by her parents, Captain John (Jack) and Eleanor Andrews, and brother, George Andrews.

Lynda was born and raised in Collingwood and moved to St Catharines as a teenager where she attended the Collegiate High School.  A few short years after moving to St Catharines Lynda met the love of her life, Terry Baines, and after dating for 5 years they married on February 14, 1969.  Lynda was a loving mother and had an extremely close relationship with her daughters.  After they relocated to Alberta, she visited them countless times over the years and was present for every life milestone.  Lynda was close with both her sons-in-law and loved them like her own.  She was a very proud and involved Nana to her four grandsons.  They are comforted by the many wonderful memories they have of their Nana, including years of summer vacations together in BC.  Lynda will also be terribly missed by her furry companion, Snookie.

Lynda was known for her butter tarts, sense of humour and her love for a cold glass of Pinot Grigio.  She lived a beautiful life and will be so missed by her many friends and extended family.

In honouring Lynda’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.  https://donate.mytributegift.org/Service?cid=7cd540c605c16e00a2b881b4916701411feb97bff40baf9f39cfd7c2f4c67073

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-4 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Considerate Cremation & Burial Services, 26 Nihan Drive, St. Catharines (between Lake Street & Scott Street), 289-362-1144. Online condolences may be made at CCBSCares.ca
